Moony Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 30, 2026

1. Overview

This policy explains how Moony handles information used to provide meeting planning, notes, action items, recordings, reminders, Apple Calendar insertion, local backups, optional profile photos, and sharing features.

2. Information You Choose to Add

Moony handles the information you enter in the app, such as optional profile photos, meeting titles, dates, times, durations, locations, categories, participant names, agendas, decisions, notes, transcripts, action items, action-item owners, priorities, due dates, meeting status, and reminder preference. When you choose to record audio, the recording is associated with the relevant meeting.

3. How Information Is Used

The information described above is used to display and organize your meetings, preserve the details you choose to keep, provide action-item tracking and audio playback, schedule reminders when enabled, add a meeting to Apple Calendar when requested, restore a local backup, and make selected content available when you choose to share it.

4. Where Information Is Kept

Meeting details, workspace preferences, optional profile photos, and recordings are kept by Moony on your device so the app can provide its features. Moony does not operate a server that receives or hosts this information.

5. Permissions

Camera and photo library. Moony requests access only when you choose to take or select an optional profile photo.

Microphone. Moony requests access only when you choose to start a meeting audio recording. Audio is not collected in the background.

Notifications. If you enable meeting reminders, Moony requests notification permission so it can notify you before scheduled meetings. You can change these permissions in iOS Settings.

Calendar. Moony requests calendar access only when you choose "Add to Apple Calendar". The selected meeting is written to the calendar you choose as the default calendar for new events. Moony does not read or upload your existing calendar events.

6. Sharing

Moony uses the iOS share sheet only after you choose a sharing action. You select the destination and the meeting, calendar, or JSON backup information to share. Information shared through another app or service is then governed by that recipient's own policies.

7. Retention and Deletion

You can delete an individual meeting, including its associated recording, from the meeting details. You can also use Moony's clear-data control to remove optional profile photos, saved meetings, preferences, and recordings from the app.

8. Your Choices

You control whether to add a profile photo, record audio, enable reminders, add events to Apple Calendar, restore a backup, or share content. You can manage permissions in iOS Settings and contact us with privacy questions.

9. Children's Privacy

Moony is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can help address the request.

10. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy when Moony changes. The current version will be posted on this page with a revised date. For privacy questions or deletion assistance, contact alex@moony.app.
